Kanoa Jacob Tano ~ our second baby!

As some of you may know, we recently gave birth to our second son — Kanoa Jacob Tano. He was born on March 5th, 2011 at 1:03am at Castle Birth Center – 7lb 11oz 20.5 inches long. He is such a precious angel. Words really cannot describe what a magical experience the birth was. In my opinion, there is nothing in the world that compares. Although labor and birth were very intense, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat because it is the most amazing feeling in the world. I was able to do it all naturally with absolutely no intervention which was exactly what we wanted. I am feeling extremely blessed to have two healthy children and a wonderful husband! Kanoa looks a lot like Kaimana did as a newborn. Check out my blog post of when Kaimana was a newborn HERE. Let me know if you think they look alike

To all my clients, I’m sorry for any delay in response — I’ve been a bit behind on emails this past week. I am taking about six weeks off from from photographing any events or portrait sessions, but I am available for correspondence either through email or phone calls.

This story melts my heart. In fact, reading Christy’s story that I asked her to email me just brought tears to my eyes. I am so happy to have met photographer Christy Eriksson, at our Fast Track Photographer meeting on Oahu. She and her husband, Stefan are two amazing people! Read their touching story below

“Love comes in all different shapes and size.

Three months ago I was wife and a daughter hoping to one day be a mother! Never guessing that my dream would could happen so fast and so perfect!

Three months ago I was asked to help out with a two year old, just thinking I would be babysitting till they could get their feet back on the ground. Two months later I would be signing the papers to make little Le’i ours!

It has been one of the most rewarding journeys ever! I never knew I could love so much and so hard.

The papers have been signed, now we just have to wait till the state can add Eriksson to his name. Thanks to furlough Friday it could take a couple months before they even see the paper work, due to them having to do so much in such little working days!

Le’i you are a dream, your smile, laughter, dance moves and your sweet cuddles are more then I could ever ask for! I am blessed and honored to call you my son and watch you grow up! I may not give you everything you want, but I promise to give you everything you need.

My dear friend Pa’ahana resembles everything wonderful about motherhood. She is someone I admire and strive to be like. She is patient, kind, caring, nurturing, loving, giving, respectful, and sensitive — all the qualities of an amazing mother and friend. She is blessed with three beautiful children. It was so nice for Kaimana to have his cousins in town for a week. He was sad when they left! Here’s a few images from Sunday. When I take personal images of family and friends, it reminds me how incredibly important photographs are because they really tell the story of a moment in time that can never be re-created.

Four Seasons Lana’i | Family Vacation

We had THE BEST Valentine’s Day weekend imaginable. We were also celebrating my Grandma Pearl’s 90th Birthday too. We stayed at Four Seasons Lanai at Manele Bay and also spent some time up at Koele Lodge. I was blown away by the beauty of Lana’i! It was wonderful just to relax with family and enjoy the weekend together. We did a sunrise nature walk on Valentines Day morning followed by a delicious Brunch! The best part about it all was that the Four Seasons is so increbibly kid-friendly. I loved how when we got to our dinner reservation they had a high-chair set up along with crayons and coloring paper, then the server brought out Kaimana’s food so quickly – what a treat to have such a smooth dining experience with our 2-year-old. Any parents with toddlers can probably relate All in all, it was definitely one of the best weekends of my life… I feel so grateful! Here are some photos from our trip:

Oh, how time flies! I seriously feel like it was just yesterday that Kaimana was a newborn. All of the sudden he is a toddler who now outruns me! He’s got such a fun personality and boy is he strong willed! Life with him has been so rewarding, heavenly and AMAZING! Now I know what people always talked about when they said that having children was life-changing. I feel extremely blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive husband and a very determined yet very sweet little boy. Life is good. Now… we just need some current photos of the three of us

Kaimana and Jade have been good friends ever since birth. Holly and Mark, Jade’s parents have become great friends of ours over the last couple of years. We met up for a little nature walk up in the Olinda forest last week and the kids had so much fun together. I love the shots of the kids with their daddies! The last shot is just classic because it totally shows how different their personalities are. Jade — so sweet and content with her daddy holding her and Kaimana — although he is so sweet too, he is just yearning to get down and make a run for it LOL.
