Dominic and Erin were such a sweet couple! They were married at the beautiful Ihilani Resort & Spa on the west side of Oahu. They opted to see each other before the ceremony for portraits and I just love the look on their faces when they had their “first look”. It was great because we had the chance to take some photos on the beach in the oh-so-beautiful morning light and blue skies. They had their ceremony on the lawn and then a lunch reception in the ballroom. Dominic & Erin are both from Oahu but they live in California now. They came home to tie the knot. Their wedding was so beautiful! Dominic and Erin – thank you for having us capture your special day. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together!

Alyson & Phil’s Olowalu Plantation House wedding ~ featured on theknot

Jennifer & Aaron ` Sheraton Keauhou – Kona, HI

My first blog post on my new blog – YAY!

Jennifer and Aaron were married at the Sheraton Keauhou in the south side of the Big Island. There wedding was intimate, elegant, beautiful and romantic! These two were so much fun to work with! When Jennifer contacted me awhile back, I was excited from day one to be a part of their day. I could tell through emails and phone conversations that she was so sweet and fun. I came to Kona the day before and got to meet them at their rehearsal at the Sheraton. Their ceremony was held in the chapel on the grounds of the Sheraton with a lovely reception on the lawn. We had fun going all around the property taking photos. I loved the black lava rocks and the trees. What a great spot! My good friend Misty (we took photography classes together in college) assisted me and took some great shots – thanks Misty! Aaron and Jennifer, thank you for sharing your amazing day with us! We are so happy for the two of you!

After their wedding, they continued their honeymoon in Maui and we did a Trash the Dress session which I can’ t wait to share on my blog soon!

Family Portraits – Kula

Jeff and Donna had us come up to their home in Kula and take some family portraits since their children were in town from the Mainland. Their place is so beautiful with lots of great areas for photos. We got some fun shots with their dogs as well. I love it up in Kula and wouldn’t mind living there one day. Erin & Eric – Napili Point

Erin and Eric were married at Napili Point. They traveled from California with a small group of family and friends. They had a lovely, intimate ceremony and reception at the Napili Point Resort. We had a great time taking photos at various locations on the property. Thank you to Kim for coming out and second shooting with me! Erin and Eric, congratulations on your marriage! We wish you all the best as husband and wife.

I met Carla Jalbert at Mike Colon’s workshop back in December. The other day, she took some wondeful portraits of our family. She is an amazing photographer and such a sweet and wonderful person! She made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and she caught us in the moment, being ourselves. This is what I strive to do at every photo shoot. It was different to be in front of the camera – I’m not used to it. I was so happy to get some photographs of our little Kaimana who is not so little anymore. He is growing way too fast. All though I am a professional photographer, I have to admit that I haven’t been taking nearly as many photos of my little sweetheart as I’d like to. I think it’s because whenever we’re at the beach I want to be in the moment with him and make sure he’s not running into the water (which he does). So… it’s hard to take photos of your own child when they are in such an exploring stage of life. I am SO THANKFUL to have these images to look back on. Thank you Carla! We love them!
