Maui Wedding | Gannon’s (formerly Seawatch) :: Alda & Bob

When I met Alda and Bob several months back, I knew that we would connect really well on their wedding day –– they are a couple of the sweetest, kindest people ever!  During their engagement, they came to Maui on a scouting trip for their wedding and we met up for coffee in Wailuku town, followed by our engagement shoot at Iao Valley which you can see HERE. Throughout the last few months of correspondence, they have always been so sweet and very appreciative of those engagement photos.

I was amazed at how exquisite their Maui wedding was! Alda, before the wedding, was quite relaxed and filled with joy in anticipation of her new life with Bob. I was moved by the beautiful and emotional moment when she read the card that Bob had written to her. Alda was such a beautiful bride, with a cascade of curls, pearl necklace and earrings, and a lovely traditional white gown. Jessica Waite and Dan Sanchez did such a fabulous job with her hair and makeup! The wedding ceremony was held at the Molokini Lookout in Wailea, with friends and family were gathered around.  The color motif was orange hues and all the details – from parasols to flower girl dresses –  was beautifully put together.

After the ceremony, we headed down to Poolenalena Beach for a picture-perfect sunset.  These two interacted so naturally –– with three photographers, we caught a great many of the precious moments between the two of them.  We could have spent hours with them: they were such fun to be around and their happiness so contagious.

Meanwhile, their guests were enjoying cocktails at the lower lawn at Gannon’s restaurant (formerly Seawatch).  The tables were decked out with beautiful floral arrangements provided by Dellables and thoughtful wedding favors, including really cute orange beach towels. The lanterns and the starlit night sky created a wonderful mood that evening. The seafood and steak dinner was delicious. The speeches were thoughtful, heartfelt and sweet.  The guests enjoyed dancing and cocktails throughout the evening, and the entire day and night could not have been any better.

I feel so incredibly honored that Alda and Bob chose me as their photographer!  I’m so glad I got to know them through our correspondence over the last year, at the engagement session, and during their wedding day!

Much thanks to Kim and Evonne for coming to photograph the wedding with me.  Alda and Bob – we wish you so much happiness and hope to see you again soon.
