One of the sweetest things is when High School sweethearts tie the knot. Marisa & Matt have been together since High School and always had envisioned a destination wedding in a tropical setting overlooking the ocean, surrounded by there closest friends and family. A couple of weeks ago their vision became a reality the the Robinson Estate in Kahana on the West side of Maui. It was my first time at this location and I was very impressed.
There was a nice cloud cover for the ceremony and then the sun popped out for our portrait session on the beach. Marisa and the bridesmaids all had parasols which provided some nice shade from the sun and were adorable props. These two were oh so cute for the photos – they interacted so naturally and beautifully together.
Anela from Event Designers International did a wonderful job coordinating the wedding day. Their reception was under a tent overlooking the ocean. Candles lit up the tables and I was able to sneak photos of the couple sharing their candelight dinner. Thanks to the canon 5D MII and the 85 1.2 – I was able to snap these photographs with no flash which meant they weren’t so aware of the camera. In my opinion, some of the best wedding images are taken when the couple is interacting naturally with little or no direction.
The reception was festive – Matt and his friends serenated Marisa with a song and the Marisa and her friends put on a dance for Matt. The night was filled with fun times with friends.
Marisa and Matt – you two are such a perfect fit for each other. Congratulations on your marriage!
Thank you Shaina for all your help!
